Each year, the Canada Council for the Arts recognizes the work of an established dance professional who has made an outstanding contribution to dance in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Established in 1980, the <a href=\"https:\/\/canadacouncil.ca\/funding\/prizes\/jacqueline-lemieux-prize\">Prize<\/a> is given in memory of Jacqueline Lemieux&#8217;s profound contribution to the development of Canadian dance. Co-founded with her husband, Lawrence Gradus, of the Montreal dance company Entre-Six and of Qu\u00e9bec \u00c9t\u00e9 Danse, a summer school in Lennoxville, Jacqueline Lemieux was a teacher, administrator and member of the Canada Council for the Arts\u2019 Advisory Panel.
