Limbes

  • *Presented as part of a double bill within the Transmissions, project for emerging artists

A duet for two dancers and two hoverboards, Limbes stages a futuristic ballet that blends dance with new technology. This work emerged from a desire to explore movement in a different way, generating dance gestures from the two motorized gyroscopic boards rather than from the dancers’ bodies.

Playing with the motifs of circles, spirals, and repetition, the movements gradually become infused with poetry and emotion. With finesse and precision, performers Émile de Vasconcelos and Alec Charbonneau transport us into a unique universe, tinged with humor and science fiction. A sensory and hypnotic experience for the audience.
