Structure
Lorganisme is a structure for choreographers that provides its member artists with shared resources in administration, production, communications, and development, as well as a space for reflection and artistic exchange. Since 2025, the company has brought together the signatures of Caroline Laurin-Beaucage, Sébastien Provencher, Amélie Rajotte, Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep, Anne Thériault, Claudia Chan Tak, and Brice Noeser.
While maintaining its core membership, which forms the foundation of the structure, Lorganisme also offers tailored administrative services to dance companies, along with occasional support for delegated production to independent artists.

Lorganisme positions itself as an innovative model grounded on the strength of collective action and sharing of resources. Supported by a general management and driven by its artist members, the company vigorously upholds the values of sharing, reflection, and dialogue as powerful and essential levers that optimize and sustain the artist’s impact within their environment.
By uniting the strengths of independent choreographers, Lorganisme fosters the deepening of their respective artistic practices. Through its structuring actions, it serves as both a beacon and an anchor for its members, promoting the visibility and longevity of their work.
Lorganisme’s members are seven choreographers who believe in fundamental research in contemporary dance and advocate for transcending artistic silos – particularly through artistic exchange and the artist’s presence within their community. As such, the structure develops shared initiatives and activities: Transmissions (a project for emerging artists), Linterface (digital residencies), La Collab (a dance-music battle), Parcours doux (performative practice) and workshops (training).

2010: Lorganisme was founded by Caroline Laurin-Beaucage, Catherine Gaudet, Anne Thériault, Amélie Rajotte, and Sara Hanley. Dedicated to independent artists, the organization broke away from the single-choreographer company model by pooling their creative, human, and material resources.
2015: Lorganisme was awarded the Emerging Organization Award from the Caisse Desjardins de la Culture and the Conseil des arts de Montréal for the innovative nature of its model.
2020: Lorganisme appointed a General Director, Sylvie Lavoie (Administrative Director since 2014). Sébastien Provencher and Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep joined the artistic members, bringing the total to five.
2022: Sébastien Provencher was appointed Artistic Representative of Lorganisme, succeeding Anne Thériault, who had led the artistic committee.
2023: In addition to supporting its artist members, Lorganisme expanded its administrative services to dance companies (Compagnie Virginie Brunelle, We All Fall Down, Tentacle Tribe). The organization also began offering delegated production support to independent artists (Marie Lambin-Gagnon, Marie-Reine Kabasha, Priscilla Guy), as well as bookkeeping and accounting services to cultural organizations (Ampleman Danse, CCOV, 14 lieux, Corpuscule Danse).
2025: Two new artistic members joined Lorganisme: Claudia Chan Tak and Brice Noeser. The organization now supports the long-term projects of seven core artist members.

In fulfilling its mission, Lorganisme is committed to acting with professionalism, integrity, and fairness. These values, essential to preserving and strengthening the bonds of trust with its collaborators, guide its adherence to the following policies:
- Code of Ethics
- Policy for the Prevention of Psychological or Sexual Harassment in the Workplace and Complaint Handling
- Eco-Responsibility and Sustainable Development Policy
- Privacy Policy
- Governance, Ethical Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Management Policy
Equity is a fundamental value for Lorganisme, directly influencing its orientations and decision-making. Gender equality, the fight against systemic racism, and the representation of marginalized individuals are central to its mission. Across all its projects—whether the creations of its member artists or collective initiatives—the presence of racialized individuals and members of the LGBTQ+ communities is considered the norm, not the exception.
In 2023, Lorganisme adopted its first Eco-responsibility and Sustainable Development Policy, marking its commitment to reducing its ecological footprint and improving the working conditions and wages of its team and collaborators. This initiative aims not only to transform its own practices but also to raise awareness and inspire peers to follow suit. Developed from proven models in the cultural sector (Mandoline Hybride, CALQ plan), this policy was tailored to meet the specific environmental challenges arising from the company’s artistic and operational activities.
