  Matière blanche is a laboratory, a shared cerebral space, where sensations, thoughts, instincts, fears are explored as common nervous connections passing through the bodies of the performers. In the darkness, spectators encircle the stage, suggesting an arena. In its center, overlooked by hanging hooks, two performers (Rachel Harris, Esther Rousseau-Morin) move together, oscillating between impulses, needs and vulnerability. Forming a duo of an intangible nature, they join, break away and weave themselves together again. Neither fight nor spectacle, their movements instead conjure up an ongoing mental process in which the audience is integrally involved. Navigating through the finely shifting lighting of Jean Jauvin and a soundtrack by David Drury, Matière blanche is a choreography of interdependency and frailty weaving together visceral thought.
