call for projects : linterface second edition
Lorganisme is offering 3 digital residencies to dance emerging artists* as part of Linterface project.
Linterface is an exploration and creation lab intended for digital experimentation in dance, a virtual space to appropriate by artists who wish to investigate new areas of creation, work and reflect on digital media (video, projection, animation, virtual reality, augmented reality, and more). This project relies on the promotion and visibility of artistic processes, through the deployment of creation journals where resident artists can freely unfold their researchs and reflections.
Without any production requirement, each residency consists of a period of paid research and exploration giving the artists the opportunity to explore creative possibilities in approaching digital formats of their choice and webcasting.
Over 6 weeks, the residencies give the opportunity to:
- develop a short work intended for webcasting
- develop the first steps of a project with augmented reality, virtual reality, animation and all other digital forms
- adapt an existing work for the camera from a cinematographic or visual arts perspective (live performance video recording excluded)
During the project, the resident artists receive production support from Lorganisme. Tailored to accommodate the creation journals form, Linterface allows the artists to document their work during the residency. Over the weeks, they will be asked to share pieces of their creation processes in various formats: photos, video capsules, interviews, choreographic notebook pages, drawings or sketches, audio tracks, zoom discussion, live sessions, etc.
During their research and creation cycle, the resident artists will also have the possibility to share digital works they own in the Club Video section accessible by subscription.
At the end of the residency, they will be asked to present a final creative stage to conclude the creation journal. Residencies require a sustained investment of time and will take place during one of the following periods: from December 1, 2022 to January 20, 2023: (with a week off for the holidays); from January 23 to March 4, 2023; from March 6 to April 15, 2023.
Applications can take the form of a short 5-minutes video or a written presentation (up to 2 pages). Presentations must include information on: 1) your approach, 2) your experiences with digital technologies and 3) the type of projects you wish to develop during the residency.
If the application is for a collective, please choose a project leader.
Applications should include a CV, and 3 links to video samples of your existing works. If you do not have any works to show yet, you can attach a proposal related to the project you wish to develop during the residency.
The projects will be selected by Lorganisme’s artistic committee : Caroline Laurin-Beaucage, Sébastien Provencher, Amélie Rajotte, Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep and Anne Thériault.
