artist in digital residence

portrait de la créatrice en danse Léonie Bélanger

Lorganisme is pleased to welcome Léonie Bélanger for a 6-week digital residency dedicated to artists at the start of their career.

Léonie Bélanger began studying contemporary dance at the Cégep de Saint-Laurent, then completed her baccalaureate training at the Département de la danse de l’UQAM in 2021. Since then, she had the opportunity to work as a performer with Danièle Desnoyers. , Catherine Lavoie-Marcus and Caroline Laurin-Beaucage.

Constantly reaffirming her approach, Léonie likes to define her art as a practice of the body in the broad sense. She therefore encounters other artistic forms – visual arts, theatre, music and performance – wishing to enrich her discipline and enter into dialogue with those of others.

Interested in the freedom offered by the digital body, for this residency, Léonie is accompanied by the visual artist Éloi Angers-Roy. Their research focuses on the hybridity between dance and 2D animation.

Follow their process through their creative journal and check out their video artwork, Terrain parfaitement familier in linterface’s  Club video.
